The Amsterdam satin fabric is a visual and tactile delight. The smooth, shiny surface of the fabric lends itself beautifully to any fashion garment, especially blouses, skirts, and scarves. However, what truly stands out in this fabric is the printed design. The design features wavy shapes in a combination of bright, abstract colors. The dominant presence of peach yellow stands out, followed by construction cone orange and light orange. It would combine well with solid fabrics in white, beige, black, and light blue. It is important to note that this printed fabric features the design on only one side, through digital textile printing.
As for the characteristics of the base fabric, Amsterdam is a 120 gr/m2 polyester that, although thin, is resistant and durable. Its visual texture is bright and soft to the touch. In addition to fashion and accessories, this fabric is used for bedding, such as pajamas and wedding dresses. The fabric is easy to maintain with warm ironing and washing at a maximum of 40ºC. It can be tumble dried at a reduced temperature and allows dry cleaning, except for trichloroethylene.
The printing technology is sublimation, a process in which special inks are used that turn into gas at high temperatures and penetrate the fibers of the fabric. It is a technique that allows for high-quality printing without leaving residues on the surface. Digital textile printing is a modern and sustainable technique that allows for the personalization and design of unique and vibrant fabrics like Amsterdam.
