Viyella fabric, also spelled Villela or Viella, is a material that was originally made of cotton and wool, and is ideal for winter thanks to its warmth and thickness. Currently, Viyella is used in children's clothing, as well as suits, shirts, pajamas, and trousers.
Viyella fabric owes its name to the city where it originated and later became a registered trademark by the British firm that began to manufacture it by hand in 1784. Thanks to the success of this fabric, the firm sold a large number of blouses, shirts, and robes made with Viyella.
Currently, Viyella is used in children's clothing, as well as suits, shirts, pajamas, and trousers. The 140 g/m2 weight of our Viyella, as well as its full cotton composition, means that this fabric is capable of providing warmth even on the coldest days, making it perfect for winter garments.
Also noteworthy are its natural finish after the printing process, as well as its good colorfastness, drape, and ease of sewing and ironing. In addition, during the treatment we subject it to, it goes through a washing process that ensures less shrinkage in subsequent cleanings, something that often happens with garments made of cotton.
