The base fabric, Cotton Sateen - White Satin, with a composition of 100% cotton and a weight of 168gr/m2, is presented in a width of 150cm. The solid printed color is cornflower blue, reflecting a cyan ink content of 62, magenta ink of 41, yellow ink of 8, and black ink of 0. A secondary color with a symbolic connotation of serenity, calmness, and freshness. Cornflower blue combines especially well with white and silver, as well as with tones of its same color range such as dark blue or light blue. The fabric is printed on one side using digital textile printing, which means it is not a penetrating dye but an printing technique that is deposited on the surface of the fabric.
The general characteristics of the base fabric and the printed color are a soft and delicate texture, typical of sateen/satin, and a thinness that gives it a high degree of drape. Coupled with the freshness and luminosity of cornflower blue, the fabric is ideal for making fashion garments such as shirts, dresses, or skirts, and also for home decoration such as pillowcases or sheets. Its use is mostly recommended in the summer season, although in combination with other textures it could be used in other seasons of the year.
Regarding care, it is recommended not to bleach or wash at temperatures above 30ºC. Dry cleaning is allowed, except with trichloroethylene, and it is advised to iron at a warm temperature and tumble dry at a reduced temperature.
The printing technology used in the manufacture of this fabric is Reactive Direct Digital (Natural Fibers), a printing process that uses reactive inks that chemically bond to the cotton fibers. This process allows for highly precise and long-lasting definition and richness of color, as well as allowing for work with complex and innovative designs without losing quality.
