The base fabric of this textile is a Glasgow plaid composed of 93% polyester, 5% viscose, and 2% elastane. Its weight of 380 gr/m2 and width of 150 cm make it a resistant and substantial fabric. The solid color printed on this fabric is denim blue, with a CMYK of 45 9 5 0. This blue is a secondary color obtained from mixing cyan, magenta, and yellow in different percentages. It is a cool, deep color that perfectly combines with gray, brown, and white tones.
This fabric is printed with a solid color on one side using digital textile printing. This means that the design is transferred from a digital file directly to the base fabric, resulting in a crisp image with great detail. The base fabric is soft to the touch, making it very pleasant against the skin. Additionally, its composition makes it resistant to deformation and wear.
Among the applications and uses of this base fabric are the creation of coats, jackets, blousons, and blazers for both women and men, as well as the manufacture of home textiles such as coasters and kitchen towels. It can also be used in the production of altar cloths.
It is important to consider the care required for this fabric to maintain it in optimal condition. It should not be bleached or dry cleaned. It can be washed at a maximum temperature of 40ºC and ironed at a warm temperature. It should also not be tumble dried.
Finally, the printing technology used on this fabric is sublimation. This technique allows the ink of the design to be transferred to the fabric using heat, which guarantees the durability of the printed design and color fidelity. Sublimation is applied to polyester and polyester-elastane fabrics, as is the case with this Glasgow plaid.
