Description

The Glasgow cloth is a fabric composed of 93% polyester, 5% viscose, and 2% elastane, weighing 380 gr/m2 and with a width of 150 cm, perfect for fashion and home textile applications in the winter and autumn/winter 2021 season. The plain color printed on this fabric is a sapphire blue, achieved through digital textile printing with cyan (96), magenta (66), yellow (13), and black (2) inks in a polyester sublimation process. This color has great symbolism, being associated with depth, wisdom, loyalty, and stability. Furthermore, it is presented as a cool color that combines well with other colors such as white, black, gray, and gold.

The Glasgow cloth fabric with a plain color printed on one side by digital textile printing is characterized by its softness to the touch, which makes it very pleasant against the skin. In addition, it is a resistant and durable fabric, ideal for outerwear, such as coats, jackets, bomber jackets, and trench coats. It can also be used for home accessories, such as coasters and kitchen towels.

Among the applications and uses of Glasgow fabric, its use in altar garments stands out, due to its soft texture and lightness, as well as in the making of blazers and jackets for men and women, since its weight allows for a good drape and structure in the garment. It is also ideal for coasters and kitchen towels thanks to its easy washing and heat resistance.

Regarding the care of Glasgow fabric with plain printed color, it is important to avoid the use of bleaches and dry cleaning, washing at maximum temperatures of 40ºC and ironing at a warm temperature. It cannot be tumble dried to avoid damage to the print and the structure of the fabric.

The printing technology used to manufacture Glasgow fabric with plain printed color is polyester sublimation. In this process, the design is digitally printed on a polymeric film with sublimable dye inks. Subsequently, the film is brought into contact with the polyester fabric through heat and pressure, causing the dye to transfer as a gas into the fabric, creating a durable and high-quality print. This technique allows for a wide variety of bright and sharp colors.
