Glasgow wool fabric is a soft and durable textile composed mainly of polyester and viscose, with a small percentage of elastane that gives it elasticity. Its weight of 380 gr/m2 makes it perfect for making outerwear such as coats, trench coats, jackets, and blazers, although it is also an interesting option for making coasters or kitchen towels due to its resistance. Additionally, it is ideal for use in religious altars. The fabric is printed on one side using digital textile sublimation printing technology, which allows for complex and artistic designs such as the one in question.
The multicolor print of the design is in a modern artistic style, with standard complexity, combining bright tones to achieve an attractive and original visual effect. The predominant tones of the print are green, blue, and yellow, but we would find it interesting to combine with plain fabrics in dark blue or gray tones to obtain more sober and elegant looks, or with plain fabrics in brown or beige tones to achieve a warmer and cozier feel.
Regarding the general characteristics of the fabric, its texture is soft to the touch, and although it does not allow bleaching, it can be washed at a maximum temperature of 40ºC and ironed at a warm temperature. It is important to note that the garment does not allow dry cleaning or tumble drying. Additionally, its recommended season is winter or autumn/winter 2021.
Regarding its printing technology, sublimation on polyester fabrics is a technique that allows the diffusion of ink into the fabric through heat and pressure, which guarantees a durable fixation and high image quality. In this case, this technique has been used to create a modern and bright artistic print on the Glasgow wool fabric, thus offering a unique and original piece.
