The base fabric is 190 gr/m2 Recycled Lycra, composed of 85% polyester and 15% elastane, with a soft and elastic texture. The solid color printed on the fabric is amber-brown, with an ink composition of: Cyan 27, Magenta 57, Yellow 62, Black 20 with a CMYK of 27 57 62 20. This secondary color is reminiscent of nature and evokes warmth in the environment. It combines especially well with different shades of green, but also with neutral colors like beige and white. It is important to mention that the fabric is digitally printed with the solid color on one side only, which means it is not a dyed fabric but printed on one side.
The base fabric has chlorine resistance and very high UV protection of 50+, making it ideal for sports and swimwear applications such as bikinis or swimsuits. In addition, this recycled lycra fabric is sustainable, GRS certified. This fabric is versatile and can be used in other applications, such as hair ties or scrunchies.
It is important to note that this fabric requires some specific care, such as not bleaching, washing at a maximum temperature of 40ºC, not dry cleaning, drying without a tumble dryer, and ironing at a cold temperature to avoid damaging its characteristic elastic texture.
The printing technology used to manufacture this fabric is sublimation (polyester), which consists of printing the desired image or design on transfer paper using sublimation inks. Subsequently, the transfer paper with the image is placed on the polyester fabric and subjected to high temperatures and pressure in a heat press so that the inks sublimate onto the surface of the fabric. This ensures a durable and high-quality finish of the printed image.
