The base fabric of this textile is a Recycled Lycra, weighing 190 gr/m2, composed of 85% polyester and 15% elastane. Its fabric width is 150 cm and the grammage is 190 gr/m2. The plain color printed on this fabric is a Mardi Gras Purple, which is obtained by a combination of 60% cyan ink and 100% magenta ink, with a total of 60% cyan and 100% magenta in the CMYK.
This Mardi Gras purple color is symbolically associated with extravagance and joy, as well as representing the celebration of carnival. Technically, magenta ink is responsible for giving it depth and richness of color, while cyan ink creates the vibrant and bright appearance of the color. This particular secondary color combines very well with colors such as pastel pink, white, and light gray.
It is important to note that the fabric is printed with the plain color on one side by digital textile printing, which means that it is not a dyed fabric, but rather the ink is applied only to one side of the fabric.
The base fabric and the plain printed color have a series of interesting characteristics. On the one hand, the fabric is soft and elastic, which makes it perfect for sportswear, swimwear, and other items that require an elastic and comfortable fabric. In addition, the fabric has a chlorine-resistant finish and a very high UV protection of 50+, making it ideal for swimwear and sportswear.
Regarding the applications and uses of the base fabric, we can highlight its use in scrunchies, headbands, swimwear, and sportswear in general. Recycled Lycra is a sustainable option that is gaining increasing relevance in the textile industry, and this is a fabric that adapts perfectly to its use.
For the care of this fabric, it is important to note that it should not be bleached, dry cleaned, or tumble dried. The recommended washing temperature is 40 degrees, and it should be ironed with a cold temperature.
Finally, the printing technology used to manufacture this fabric is polyester sublimation, which allows the ink to merge with the fabric fibers, creating a very defined and durable image that does not peel or fade over time. This technology is very effective in the case of elastic fabrics such as Lycra, as it maintains the elasticity of the fabric without affecting the quality of the print.
