Glasgow Cloth is a broadcloth fabric with a composition of 93% polyester, 5% viscose, and 2% elastane, with a weight of 380 gr/m2 and a width of 150 cm. The solid color printed on this fabric is a Milk Chocolate Brown obtained through a combination of 33 (Cyan), 60 (Magenta), 70 (Yellow), and 37 (Black) in the CMYK color model.
Symbolically, the color brown is associated with the earth, conveying feelings of stability, security, and quality. Meanwhile, the touch of milk adds softness and affection. Technically, the color brown is achieved using the three basic CMY inks: cyan, magenta, and yellow. Adding a sufficient amount of black creates a deeper tone. This color pairs very well with different shades of beige, warm browns, or even grays and dark reds.
It is important to mention that this fabric is printed with the solid color on one side using digital textile printing, meaning it is not a dyed fabric but printed on one side. This offers great customization and small-scale design capabilities.
The general characteristics of Glasgow Cloth include its softness, with a pleasant texture to the touch. The excellent composition of this fabric makes it resistant and durable, making it a good choice for various applications. Among the listed applications, its effectiveness as altar fabric stands out, as cloth is used in different religious ceremonies such as mass, confirmations, or weddings.
Regarding care instructions, it is recommended to avoid bleaching, dry cleaning, tumble drying, and ironing at a warm temperature not exceeding 40ºC.
Finally, the printing technology used on this fabric is sublimation (polyester), which allows for high color fidelity, as well as great resolution and definition in drawings or designs. This technology involves transferring a special sublimation ink to a surface (in this case, polyester fabric) through a process of heat and pressure.
