Cloth - Glasgow

The base fabric is a Glasgow cloth, composed of 93% polyester, 5% viscose, and 2% elastane, with a weight of 380 gr/m2 and a width of 150 cm. The solid printed color is a beautiful purple-violet on the color wheel, which is obtained by mixing 80% cyan ink and 80% magenta ink, without the need for yellow or black ink, resulting in a color saturation very similar to that of purple. This color combines very well with earthy tones, beige, browns, and blues.

It is important to note that the fabric is printed with the solid color on one side using digital textile printing, which means that the fabric is not dyed, but printed on one side. The texture of the fabric is soft to the touch and adapts perfectly to the skin.

The base fabric has some general characteristics such as a high grammage, which makes it ideal for outerwear; its composition is resistant to wear and deformation. In addition, as mentioned above, its applications and uses are many, being very popular for making coats, jackets, and blousons, but it can also be used in home decoration, such as coasters. It can also be used in making clothing for special occasions, such as altar cloths.

Regarding care, it should be noted that the garment is not suitable for dry cleaning, so it is recommended to wash at a maximum temperature of 40ºC, avoiding bleaching and tumble drying. Iron at a warm temperature.

The printing technology used for the manufacture of this fabric is sublimation (polyester). This process consists of printing the design through a thermal printhead, which melts the sublimation ink and converts it into gas to then fix it on the surface of the fabric. In this way, high-definition print quality and great resistance to water and washing are achieved. In short, the printed Glasgow cloth is an excellent option for both clothing and home decoration, thanks to its specific characteristics, applications, and care that must be taken into account.
