Glasgow cloth is a polyester, viscose, and elastane fabric with a weight of 380 gr/m2 and a width of 150 cm. The solid printed color is opaque sea green, with a CMYK of 80 22 78 6. This color is characterized by its muted and elegant tone, which evokes the depth of the ocean on a gray day. Combined with beige, brown, and cream tones, it provides a natural and harmonious look. The fabric is digitally printed with the solid color on one side using textile digital printing. This printing technique provides high print quality and a great ability to capture details and complex designs.
As for the general characteristics of the fabric, its softness to the touch stands out, making it ideal for outerwear and home accessories, such as cloths and coasters. Glasgow cloth is a resistant and durable fabric, so it is also used in outerwear and jackets. In addition, its composition allows for easy handling and tailoring, making it a versatile fabric suitable for different applications.
Among the outstanding applications and uses for this type of fabric are womens and mens fashion, specifically for coats, jackets, trench coats, and blazers. It is also used in home textiles, such as coasters and kitchen towels. In the religious field, it is a sought-after fabric for altars, especially in the winter and autumn/winter 2021 season.
The care that should be taken for Glasgow cloth includes washing at a maximum temperature of 40ºC, no bleaching, no tumble drying, and using a warm temperature for ironing. For proper preservation, dry cleaning is not recommended.
The printing technology used to manufacture this fabric is sublimation on polyester. In this process, designs are printed on special transfer paper and transferred to the fabric using heat and pressure. The advantage of sublimation is that it ensures a permanent fixation of the design on the fabric, preventing its deterioration over time and with washing.
