The Lycra Polyester fabric - Nairobi is an elastic and resistant lycra, with a weight of 270 gr/m2 and a composition of 82% polyester and 18% elastane. Its printed design is in a drawn and botanical style, with artistic branches, leaves, and pictorial floral flowers in multicolor tones. The fabric is digitally printed with the design on one side. Its general characteristics are chlorine resistance, very high UV protection 50+, and its elastic texture and feel. The fabric is commonly used for lingerie, sportswear such as swimsuits, bikinis, leotards, and leggings, as well as for general swimwear. In addition, its main multicolor tones combine very well with plain fabrics in neutral tones such as white, black, or grey, or even with other more vibrant tones.
Regarding care, it is recommended not to bleach and to wash at a maximum temperature of 40ºC. The fabric allows dry cleaning except for trichloroethylene and requires ironing at a cold temperature. It is important to avoid using a dryer, as lycra can lose its elasticity and shape with heat.
The printing technology used to manufacture this fabric is sublimation, a process that consists of printing the design on polyester transfer paper and transferring it to the fabric using heat and pressure. In this way, the ink turns into gas and penetrates the pores of the fabric, providing a durable print resistant to wear and washing.
