The Lycra Polyester fabric - Nairobi, with a weight of 270 gr/m2, stands out for its composition of 82% polyester and 18% elastane, combining functionality with a multicolored printed design in the form of red squares. This attractive print provides a dynamic and modern visual touch, ideal for highlighting fashion garments and sportswear. The mix of colors and geometric patterns creates a vibrant aesthetic that can be complemented with solid tones such as black, white, gray, or navy blue, offering versatility in design and the possibility of elegant contrasts.
This fabric is characterized by its elastic texture and a chlorine-resistant finish, making it perfect for aquatic environments. Its treatment also includes very high UV protection (50+), which makes it an optimal choice for garments that will be used outdoors. It is important to mention that the fabric is printed with the stamped design on one side only using digital textile printing, ensuring exceptional visual quality and a durable finish, without printing on the back. This technique allows the colors to effectively set on the polyester surface, maintaining their vibrancy even after multiple washes.
Regarding the applications and uses of the fabric, its characteristics and properties make it ideal for a variety of garments, including lingerie, bodysuits, sportswear, leotards, tights, leggings, and swimwear. The fabrics elasticity provides a great range of motion, which is essential for sports and leisure activities. Its chlorine resistance also gives it an advantage in making swimwear and bikinis, ensuring they maintain their shape and color when exposed to pool chlorine. The softness and adaptability of Lycra make it a popular choice for fashion, allowing the creation of designs that fit comfortably to the body without sacrificing style.
Fabric care is simple but very important to ensure its longevity. It is essential not to bleach the fabric and to wash it at a maximum temperature of 40ºC. Dry cleaning is allowed, except with trichloroethylene, and ironing at low temperature is recommended. In addition, it is essential to avoid using a tumble dryer, as excessive heat can damage the elastic fibers and affect the shape and performance of the fabric.
Regarding the printing technology used, sublimation on polyester is an innovative process that uses heat to transfer special inks to the fabric. When heat is applied, the inks turn into gas and merge with the materials fibers, resulting in vibrant and durable colors. This not only allows for precision in complex designs but also provides a soft-to-the-touch finish, as the design does not affect the fabrics texture. Sublimation printing is, therefore, an ideal option for creating customized and high-quality designs in sports and fashion textiles.
