The Glasgow broadcloth fabric is printed with a pattern of circular shapes and dots in white, black, and deep mauve pink. This design simulates the movement and texture of a starry sky. This single-sided digitally printed fabric has a composition of 93% polyester, 5% viscose, and 2% elastane, giving it a soft feel. The fabrics weight is 380 gr/m2, with a width of 150 cm.
In terms of symbolism, the Glasgow fabric design represents the night sky full of small stars that shimmer against a dark background. This design is versatile and elegant, making it ideal for crafting both mens and womens garments for winter or autumn/winter 2021. Additionally, it could be combined with plain fabrics in dark tones such as black and petrol blue to highlight the printed shapes.
Furthermore, the Glasgow broadcloth fabric is resistant and durable, making it perfect for outerwear. It is used in the manufacturing of jackets, coats, and trench coats, but also, due to its softness, in the kitchen as dishcloths and in the dining room as coasters.
It is important to note that this fabric requires special care for its maintenance. It should not be bleached, can be washed at a maximum of 40ºC without dry cleaning, ironed at a warm temperature, and should not be tumble dried.
The printing technology used to create this fabric is sublimation (polyester), which guarantees high definition of details and intensity of colors on one side of the fabric.
