The fabric in question is the Elastic Knit Crepe - Riga, a crepe made of 94% polyester and 6% elastane, which provides elasticity and a very pleasant feel against the skin. Its weight of 180gr/m2 and width of 150cm make it a lightweight and manageable fabric, ideal for fashion garments such as dresses, jumpsuits, t-shirts, tops, skirts, trousers, cardigans, and knitwear in general. Its printed design has very defined attributes in terms of style and shape. The marine style is represented by a multicolor wave pattern that moves across the fabric with a granulated texture, giving a more organic look to the representation of water. The main design combines with solid tones of navy blue, white, and grey, but can also be complemented with other solid colors that provide contrast or harmony. It is important to note that this fabric is printed with the patterned design on one side using digital textile printing.
Regarding the general characteristics of the fabric, its granulated texture and elastic capacity make it a very pleasant fabric to the touch and comfortable to wear. The printed design, for its part, adds a touch of dynamism and movement to the garment in which it is used. As for applications and uses, in addition to those mentioned previously, this fabric is ideal for making swimwear and sportswear, as well as for garments that require a certain adaptability to the body without losing their original shape.
It is important to consider the care this fabric requires: it should not be bleached and it is recommended to wash it at a maximum temperature of 40ºC, although dry cleaning is permitted (except for trichloroethylene). Likewise, ironing should be done at a low temperature, and it can be tumble dried at a reduced temperature.
The printing technology used to manufacture this fabric is polyester sublimation. This technique consists of transferring the printed ink onto the fabric using heat and pressure. When the fabric reaches a certain temperature, the ink penetrates it and is permanently fixed. This achieves a high-quality and durable finish, capable of resisting washes and the wear and tear associated with garment use.
